Founded in 2015 by businessman Alexandr Shkarupa, Amatex Capital is a Ukraine-focused private equity firm that pursues special situations and arbitrage opportunities. The team of experts working with the firm focuses on corporate finance, investment banking and legal matters with decades of experience in Ukraine.  Most of the members have Western university degrees and qualifications including those obtained from Ivy League institutions.

Amatex Capital approaches special situations and arbitrage opportunities through an American strategy called “activist investing.” This strategy utilizes superior management technology and new capital to achieve high values for the assets in which it invests. Many of the private equity firm’s team members possess more than one decade of experience working at high transaction levels in Ukrainian M&A, corporate advisory, private placement, and public placement deals. Several team members have spent time working in official capacities with Ukrainian government agencies to help bring foreign direct investment into Ukraine and improve Ukraine’s business climate.
